Ryder System, Inc. in Allentown, PA is seeking a Senior Operations Manager II to lead operations for multiple locations with ~601+ trucks. You will delegate to a team including Operations Managers, Supervisors, Technicians, and coordinators to meet customer needs and financial targets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee work analysis, vehicle planning and scheduling, and assignment of work to technicians.
• Perform complex strategic Labor Planning by evaluating incoming work and allocating resources.
• Balance shift schedules, establish operating hours, and level load workload to maximize efficiency.
• Optimize labor at the shop, balancing straight time, OT and Outside Repair.
• Align shift patterns with supplier hours and equipment availability to meet customer needs.
• Oversee the Workflow Management process.
• Provide leadership to a self-directed management team at the branch(es).
• Manage performance of all assigned personnel and succession planning.
• Develop and execute Technical Training Plans with Field Training Team.
• Prioritize TOPS plan based on breakdown, rework and running costs trends.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, payroll and succession planning responsibilities.
• Maintain customer relationships, ensure uptime, and drive customer satisfaction and retention.
• Optimize vehicle maintenance cycle time to meet Delivered in Time Promised objectives.
• Collaborate with Sales to scope new business and identify growth opportunities.
• Lead the Maintenance Promise to achieve quality and financial targets.
• Manage budgets and cost control for maintenance operations and location P&L.
• Coordinate with vendors, verify invoices, and manage third-party maintenance services.
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of re-billable activity and warranty recovery.
• Oversee asset management, 6S standards, and tooling/equipment requirements at the shop.
• Ensure all vehicles meet specifications in SAM and manage parts inventory policies.
