Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to design and build the software layer for an enterprise OpenShift platform. You will enable Kubernetes-based private cloud solutions that deliver a consistent end-user experience across on-premises and public clouds.

You will develop self-service workflows, platform APIs, controllers/operators, and tooling in partnership with infrastructure engineering to drive automation, reliability, and security across the environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Experience delivering production services.
• Demonstrated proficiency building production systems in Go and/or Python (strong in at least one).
• Knowledge of distributed systems fundamentals and observability.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containers in production.
• Experience building platform software for OpenShift/Kubernetes environments.
• Experience implementing CI/CD practices and toolchains for platform software.
• Experience with GitOps and pipeline tooling (Argo CD, Tekton, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Security-minded engineering practices for platform services.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement platform services for workload onboarding and lifecycle management.
• Build Kubernetes-native automation and custom controllers/operators.
• Integrate platform services with identity, secrets, policy, observability, and CMDB patterns.
• Develop tools for multi-cluster operations and platform automation.
• Implement CI/CD for platform software with testing, versioning, and rollback strategies.
• Collaborate with infrastructure engineers to meet reliability and performance goals.
• Deliver high-quality production code for private cloud infrastructure services.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts and maintain documentation.
• Leverage AI capabilities to accelerate analysis and ensure security and auditability.
