Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Associate of Ontology and Data Modeling to develop, implement, and govern enterprise ontologies supporting the data strategy. This role collaborates with Finance and Enterprise partners to standardize data and champion semantic technology adoption across Capital One products.

You will partner with Technology, Product, and other teams to advance semantic programs, communicate value, and ensure alignment with W3C standards and industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information science, computer science, engineering, library science, ontology, semantics, or a combination.
• 2+ years in a metadata field or a master’s degree in listed fields.
• 2+ years’ experience or training in W3C standards (JSON, XML, RDF, RDFS, OWL, SKOS).
• 2+ years’ experience with ontology and linked data tools (Protégé, TopQuadrant, PoolParty, Stardog, AnzoGraph, Neptune, Data.World).
• 2+ years’ experience with SQL, SPARQL, or a combination.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and govern ontologies and optimized data models in consultation with stakeholders.
• Harmonize data with upper and domain ontologies.
• Communicate and advocate the value of ontologies, semantics, and standardization across the business.
• Partner with Technology, ML, and other teams to integrate semantics in products and services.
• Test/troubleshoot new or updated models and systems.
• Maintain awareness of industry developments related to ontology and data modeling.
