Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Associate in Ontology and Data Modeling to develop enterprise ontologies and data models supporting the Data Strategy. You will collaborate with Finance and Enterprise partners to standardize data and enable semantic capabilities across products.

The role requires hands-on experience with W3C standards and ontology tools, plus strong communication and project management skills. Location includes McLean, VA on-site work and a competitive salary range.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information science, computer science, engineering, library science, ontology, semantics or related.
• At least 2 years’ experience in metadata or related fields; strong knowledge of W3C standards.
• Experience with ontology tooling (Protégé, TopQuadrant, PoolParty, Stardog, AnzoGraph, Neptune, or Data.World).
• Experience with SQL, SPARQL, or related query languages.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and govern ontologies and optimized data models with stakeholders.
• Contribute to data integration and mapping to harmonize data with domain ontologies.
• Advocate the value of ontologies, semantics, and standardization across the business.
• Partner with Technology and ML teams to integrate semantics into products and services.
• Test and troubleshoot new or updated models and systems.
