Job summary

Boomtech is seeking a Sr. Support Desk Technician to join our MSP team in Florida. The role focuses on onsite client support, troubleshooting hardware/software, and ensuring reliable network performance across client sites.

You will perform preventive maintenance, assist with installations, and maintain detailed service records in our ticketing system. Strong communication and independence plus teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in technical support within an MSP environment.
• Certification or equivalent technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network, Microsoft Certified Professional).
• Strong working knowledge of networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
• Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours when necessary.
• Excellent problem-solving and proactive approach to resolving client issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite technical support for clients, including hardware repairs, software troubleshooting, and network installations.
• Perform preventative maintenance on client systems to minimize downtime.
• Install and configure hardware, software, and networking equipment.
• Assist with setup and troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, printers, servers, and other IT peripherals.
• Respond to client service requests promptly and resolve issues per SLAs.
• Diagnose and resolve network issues including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities in the ticketing system.
• Train clients on system usage as needed.
• Communicate with the MSP team to escalate knowledge and ensure efficient service delivery.
• Provide on-call support for emergency or after-hours requests.
• Travel to client sites within the assigned geographic area.
