Job summary

R-2 Contractors, Inc. is seeking an Information Technology Senior Technician to support daily technical operations and maintain stability across locations. You will be the frontline contact for user issues, resolving hardware and software tickets to minimize downtime, and handle Tier 2 escalations.

The role coordinates with the MSP, manages IT inventory lifecycle, and develops repeatable processes to scale the department. A strong documentation and training focus is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT help desk, technical support, or field technician environment.
• Deep familiarity with Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint data structures.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and on-site network diagnostics.
• Experience with mobile device management platforms (Intune, Apple Business Manager).
• Exposure to construction-adjacent platforms (HCSS, Samsara, Bluebeam) is valued.
• Strong ability to document processes and create SOPs.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary responder for the internal help desk, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and peripheral issues for office and remote users.
• Escalate complex issues before involving senior IT leadership.
• Liaise daily with the external MSP help desk to track open cases and align with internal timelines.
• Design and author technical step-by-step documentation for workstation provisioning and onboarding.
• Create foundational how-to documentation for employees regarding company systems to streamline adoption.
• Offer hands-on training to employees on deployed systems.
• Manage the complete physical lifecycle of IT hardware, including asset tagging and data accuracy in inventories.
• Coordinate the preparation, packing, tracking, and shipping of company hardware to offices and field personnel.
• Oversee IT inventory accuracy and conduct routine audits to ensure records match physical assets.
• Maintain organized IT storage areas and stage retired equipment for secure disposal.
• Perform routine data entry and audits to ensure records of users, licenses, and assets are accurate.
• Configure and deploy workstations, tablets, and phones with security and software standards before user assignment.
• Travel to active job sites and offices to install equipment and provide on-site support.
