Job summary

Yates Construction seeks a Senior HR Business Partner – Project Based to serve as the onsite HR resource for the project team. You will provide strategic and hands-on HR support, focusing on employee relations, workplace investigations, and performance management, while ensuring compliance with policies and laws.

You will partner with project leadership and corporate HR to resolve issues, guide disciplinary actions, and support onboarding, benefits, and wellness initiatives at the project level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 4 years focused on employee relations and workplace investigations.
• Experience independently conducting and documenting complex investigations (harassment, discrimination, retaliation).
• 5+ years of construction or engineering industry experience; onsite project experience preferred.
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment law.
• Ability to work 100% onsite at project location or from Dallas/Irving TX office with onsite presence several days per week.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the onsite HR resource for the project team, providing strategic and hands-on HR support.
• Lead investigations into workplace concerns, documenting findings and reporting.
• Recommend corrective actions and partner with project leadership on resolutions.
• Advise project leadership on leadership conduct and fair disciplinary practices.
• Oversee onboarding, orientation, and benefits communication at the project site.
• Coordinate workforce mobilization/demobilization and participate in workforce planning.
