Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Field Service Engineer to deploy and support software solutions within the Air Force SIL environment at Langley AFB, VA. This onsite role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and collaboration with AF counterparts to meet security and operational standards.

You will work with a team to ensure secure, reliable integration of containerized systems, participate in acceptance testing, and support deployments across mission environments.

Qualifications

• Active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government security clearance is required prior to start date.
• Current DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II or IAM Level I certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, CAP, etc.)
• Expertise navigating RMF compliance processes, DISA STIG implementation, and associated documentation
• Experience managing CI/CD pipeline activities in support of deployment and release processes
• Strong background in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience performing ACAS/SCAP vulnerability scanning and interpreting results
• Proficiency troubleshooting complex system issues in mission or operational environments
• Experience working with Cross Domain Solutions and performing Site Acceptance Testing
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Responsibilities

• The Field Service Engineer is responsible for deploying and supporting software solutions within the Air Force SIL environment, serving as the technical liaison between commercial development cycles and AF‑DCGS operational requirements.
• This role ensures that software releases meet compliance, security, and operational readiness standards while supporting site deployments, troubleshooting, and collaboration with Air Force counterparts.
• The Field Service Engineer plays a critical role in validating system performance, supporting acceptance testing, and ensuring secure, reliable integration in mission environments.
