Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Cybersecurity Engineer to support modernization efforts at Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, VA. The role is fully onsite and requires active TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI eligibility required.
• Expert knowledge in fundamental and advanced cyber security.
• Experience developing, operating and maintaining security systems.
• Extensive knowledge of operating systems and database security.
• Proficiency in networking technologies, network security and monitoring solutions.
• Knowledge of security systems including anti-virus, firewalls, authentication and IDS/IPS.
• Strong understanding of security protocols and principles.
• Critical thinking and complex problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and track security measures to protect information and networks.
• Design and engineer secure cybersecurity architecture.
• Define and document system security requirements and solutions.
• Configure and maintain security infrastructure software/hardware.
• Install monitoring software for security breaches and intrusions.
• Monitor for irregular behavior and implement preventive measures.
• Guide DoD/IC policy compliance across environments.
• Educate staff on information security best practices.
• Translate security needs into technical designs with clients.
