Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Systems Engineer (SME) to support modernization efforts. The role is located in Hampton, VA on Joint Base Langley-Eustis and requires onsite work. You will join a team delivering mission-critical infrastructure and ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

Responsibilities include modernizing enterprise systems, implementing control features, training staff on security practices, and coordinating with PMO and Portfolio Managers to meet deliverables on schedule.

Qualifications

• Clearance: TS/SCI
• DOD 8140 IAT II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+,CND)
• Proven experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting in computing environments
• Experience with virtualization and containerization (VMware, VirtualBox, Docker)
• Experience with automation software

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with customer, vendors, management and IT team through modernization of enterprise systems.
• Developing control features to ensure systems meet quality standards.
• Engaging in quality control procedures to ensure systems are efficient and operational.
• Train team on data security, troubleshooting processes and related skills.
• Create, install and support enterprise systems.
• Work with PMO to determine computing and technology needs.
• Work with Portfolio Managers to manage projects and meet deliverables on schedule.
• Demonstrate technical proficiency across technologies, programming languages, and tools.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders to ensure system requirements are met.
• Plan lifecycle management for IT systems.
