Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Sterling, VA is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our on-site team. You will support integration, testing, maintenance, and deployment of simulation and training systems to support critical customer missions.

You will perform hardware upgrades, repairs, and system modifications, travel 25% to customer sites, and diagnose complex issues with cross-functional teams. A DoD Top Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree (or equivalent) and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance required before start date.
• U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex electronic or electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering teams with integration, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of simulation and training systems.
• Perform hardware upgrades, repairs, and system modifications to support development and program requirements.
• Travel to customer sites to support installations, troubleshooting, testing, and issue resolution.
• Diagnose complex hardware issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program teams to resolve technical challenges and maintain schedules.
• Assist with rack/chassis assembly, wiring harness fabrication, and equipment configuration as needed.
• Manage lab equipment, assets, and hardware configurations to ensure availability and readiness.
• Provide technical guidance to team members while ensuring safety, security, and operational requirements.
