Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Aurora, CO is seeking a Senior Systems Security (Cybersecurity) Engineer to join the Product Cybersecurity Organization (PCO). You will work onsite to develop security solutions for Warfighter systems, leveraging RMF, STIG, and NIST standards to protect critical programs.

Active TS/SCI clearance is required on day one; DoD 8140.03 certifications are preferred.Responsibilities include supporting ATOs, risk assessments, and partnering with software/system engineers to harden

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
• Active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
• DoD 8140.03 compliant certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent)
• Experience in Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) as described in NIST SP 800-37 and DoD Instruction 8510.01
• Experience with Systems Security Engineering requirements, specifications, and practice implementing DoD and Federal A&A Processes and cybersecurity controls
• Experience with Linux Commands
• Experience utilizing vulnerability scanning tools (Tenable, STIG Viewer, SCAP)

Responsibilities

• Support the development of RMF documents and controls validation testing for Authorizations to Operate (ATOs)
• Ensure proposed system changes do not adversely affect security
• Implement security improvements by evaluating current trends and requirements
• Support the development of cybersecurity requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and policies
• Analyze collected cybersecurity data and test results
• Provide on-site security engineering, systems administration, and cybersecurity support
• Collaborate with Software/Systems Engineering to implement cybersecurity policies and harden the system
• Travel CONUS/OCONUS up to 25%
