Job summary

Southern-States-LLC seeks a Benefits Specialist to oversee benefits and leave administration in a fully onsite environment in Georgia. You will serve as the primary contact for employees and vendors, manage 401(k) and health benefits, and drive compliance across ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA.

Role emphasizes benefits education, Open Enrollment coordination, and data integrity across HRIS and carrier systems. This position requires 5 days per week onsite at the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in HR, business, or health care administration.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience focusing on benefits, leave administration, and compliance.
• Knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ACA, and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration of health and welfare benefit plans, enrollments, terminations, and COBRA coordination.
• Serve as primary contact for benefits questions and 401(k) offerings; educate employees on plan provisions and enrollment.
• Coordinate Open Enrollment activities and benefits communications to enhance employee understanding and engagement.
• Oversee leave cases (FMLA, STD, LTD, parental, military, bereavement) and coordinate with HR/Payroll on pay during leaves.
• Maintain HRIS data integrity and ensure accurate reporting and vendor coordination.
