Job summary

Vestas North America is seeking an experienced attorney to support wind turbine supply contracts and related commercial transactions across the United States and Canada. You will draft, review, and negotiate high‑value agreements while advising on risk allocation and commercial terms.

The role requires a JD with U.S. bar admission and 7+ years of experience in energy-related transactions, with leadership and collaboration skills to work with sales, finance, and project teams.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school with admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 7+ years of experience in commercial transactions with drafting and negotiation.
• Demonstrated leadership on complex, high-value agreements in energy, infrastructure, or capital equipment sectors.
• Deep understanding of commercial law, risk allocation, and large-scale transactions.
• Experience in global or matrixed organizations working with cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing external counsel and coordinating specialized legal support.
• Familiarity with project finance concepts.

Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex turbine supply agreements and related contracts.
• Provide strategic legal advice on risk allocation and commercial terms.
• Identify and communicate legal and commercial risks for informed decisions.
• Collaborate with global colleagues and align with policies and best practices.
• Supervise external counsel as needed and mentor junior team members.
• Contribute to contracting process improvements, templates, and governance.
