Job summary

The US Oncology Network seeks a Patient Benefits Representative to support the Revenue Cycle Department at Texas Oncology's Austin clinic. This full-time role operates Monday to Friday, 8:30a-5:00p, focusing on educating patients about insurance coverage and financial assistance.

The successful candidate will review eligibility, assist with cost estimates, and coordinate with billing while maintaining HIPAA compliance and a patient-friendly approach in a busy oncology setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three (3) years patient pre-services coordinator or equivalent.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCS coding application.
• Must be able to verbally communicate clearly and utilize the appropriate terminology.
• Must successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.

Responsibilities

• Obtain insurance coverage information and educate on benefits.
• Assess patients ability to meet expenses and discuss payment arrangements.
• Complete reimbursement and liability forms for patient’s review and signature.
• Obtain pre-authorization or referral codes prior to each treatment.
• Review patient account balance and notify front desk to meet with patients.
• Verify and update demographics and insurance coverage at visits according to SOPs.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
