Texas Oncology in Austin is seeking a Patient Benefits Representative to educate patients about insurance coverage, determine financial eligibility, and support pre-authorization processes. This full-time role sits in the Revenue Cycle Department at our 4101 James Casey Street clinic.

You will update coverage details in the system, discuss payment options, and connect patients with financial aid resources, while upholding HIPAA and company standards.

Formación

• Education and experience requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Level 1 requires 3+ years as a patient pre-services coordinator or equivalent.
• Level Sr adds an associate degree or four years revenue cycle experience.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
• Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS coding and appropriate terminology.
• Ability to communicate clearly and complete required e-learning within 90 days.

Responsabilidades

• Pre-authorization or referral information collection before treatment.
• Educates patients on insurance coverage, benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
• Assess patients' financial ability and discuss payment arrangements.
• Complete Patient Cost Estimate forms based on diagnosis and coverage.
• Process reimbursement and liability forms for patient review.
• Ensure accurate data entry of co-pays and demographics in the system.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA.
• Stay updated on financial assistance programs and build relationships with providers.
