Job summary

AbbVie Oncology is seeking an Oncology Nurse Educator to engage with allied healthcare professionals, provide product and disease education, and support patient management on approved therapies. This field-based role covers a territory including Dallas, TX, with travel up to 50%.

You will develop customized education plans, train staff, and collaborate with sales, medical and clinical operations to improve clinical competencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, NP, PA or PharmD required
• Master’s degree preferred
• Current active HCP license
• 7+ years clinical oncology/hematology experience. Recent clinical Hematology experience required; recent multiple myeloma preferred
• Experience in academic and/or community oncology practice working with Hematology/Oncology patients.
• Passion for patients is essential
• Excellent communication(s), objective setting, influencing, business acumen, analytical and strong presentation skills
• Demonstrated experience adapting to change and embracing learning
• Demonstrated experience interpreting clinical and pharmacoeconomic data

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic education leader across academic and community oncology accounts by way of proactive and reactive education with approved resources to allied health care professionals and patient care team members
• Develops a customized educational plan through the analysis of account dynamics and clinical insights that meet the patient care team’s needs and clinical challenges
• Educate allied health care clinicians on appropriate patient identification and role of approved therapies for treatment of hematologic and solid tumor malignancies
• Educate on the preparation and administration requirements of approved products; and adverse event mitigation, monitoring, and management
• Educate patient care teams about initiation and managing patients per protocols associated with the product
• Interpret and communicate relevant clinical education topics to diverse audiences as per materials approved for the role
• Educate on disease state awareness, including clinical and operational aspects of appropriate patient diagnosis and management
• Provide education programs through 1:1 presentations/in-services and other methods expressly approved, which may include round-table discussions, and podium presentations
• Document customer interactions and educational activities and manage allocated resources
