Job summary

AbbVie seeks an Oncology Nurse Educator to proactively engage with allied healthcare professionals, delivering product and disease education across patient management. This field-based role covers the Washington, DC region, with up to 50% travel.

You will develop educational plans, lead 1:1 sessions, and collaborate with sales, marketing, and clinical teams to support education initiatives and enhance clinical competencies in oncology care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, NP, PA or PharmD required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Current active HCP license.
• 7+ years clinical oncology/hematology experience, recent hematology experience preferred.
• Experience in academic and/or community oncology practice with Hematology/Oncology patients.
• Excellent communication, objective setting, influencing, business acumen, analytical and strong presentation skills.
• Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to learn.
• Experience interpreting clinical and pharmacoeconomic data.
• Awareness of oncology market trends and impact on providers/patients.
• Success in cross-functional team environments.
• Strong organizational skills and autonomous work style.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
• Willingness to travel 50% and overnight/weekends.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Authorization to drive company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Educate allied health care clinicians on patient management and approved therapies.
• Develop customized educational plans based on account dynamics and clinical insights.
• Educate on product preparation, administration, and adverse event management.
• Provide education to patients in line with protocols and approved materials.
• Document interactions and manage resources.
• Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, medical) to support oncology education initiatives.
• Attend internal meetings to provide clinical information and presentations.
• Support staff at exhibit booths and displays.
