Job summary

Gilbane Building seeks a General Superintendent to independently manage all field operations on projects up to $100M. The role is on site daily, leading trade contractors and coordinating with project teams to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery.

NYC projects will require strong leadership and adherence to Gilbane safety standards. This position requires 10–15 years of experience on large commercial projects, OSHA 30, STS‑C, and first aid certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 10–15 years of experience on large commercial/industrial projects.
• OSHA 30‑hour certified; STS‑C certification; First Aid/CPR/AED/Stop the Bleed trained.
• Experience leading a project team and coordinating trade contractors.
• Ability to develop and manage project safety and quality programs.

Responsibilities

• Directs day‑to‑day coordination of trade contractors and sub‑contractors to meet the project schedule.
• Manages the project budget for general conditions and site services.
• Develops, documents, and communicates the work plan for field changes.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to anticipate problems.
• Ensures permits are obtained for construction purposes.
• Acts as primary safety representative in the field and enforces safety compliance.
