Job summary

JLL is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer for a critical environments data center in Richardson, TX. The role supervises engineers on shift and ensures uptime for essential systems including UPS, generators, HVAC, and electrical infrastructure.

You will manage maintenance work, coordinate with contractors, and uphold safety and reliability standards. The position requires hands-on data center experience, a valid operating engineers license, and CFC technician certification with a focus on

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in a data center/critical facility including UPS, generators and switchgear.
• High school diploma or GED required; supervision experience preferred.
• License and certifications as a SMA operator and universal CFC technician are required or within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct maintenance staff on shift.
• Direct preventive maintenance and service requests to minimize disruption.
• Monitor equipment and take corrective action to restore operations.
• Provide training and leadership to the operations team.
• Oversee contracted maintenance work and ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain documentation and logs of rounds, readings and activity.
