Job summary

JLL is seeking an Operating Engineer S2 - Critical Environments to maintain and repair data center systems on-site in Allen, TX. You will focus on electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems, ensuring 100% uptime and safe operations for high-demand facilities.

The role requires 2+ years in data centers, UPS experience, and strong troubleshooting abilities. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, and be comfortable climbing and working at heights.

Qualifications

• Experience in data center or critical facility operations preferred.
• Familiarity with UPS, generators, switchgears, and emergency power equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and operating procedures.
• Proven communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Monitor and log readings; perform preventive maintenance and respond to alarms.
• Manage work orders, CMMS, vendor coordination, and customer-facing tickets.
• Adhere to safety policies and respond to emergencies and escalations.
