Job summary

Supermicro in San Jose, CA is seeking a Sr. Product Engineer to join the OEM server group. You will collaborate with product managers and account teams to move high-visibility server projects from concept to qualification, while ensuring design feasibility and performance targets.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in server engineering, deep knowledge of server architecture, and hands-on troubleshooting. You will work with internal labs and sales teams, and must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in EE, CE, ME with 8+ years system engineering experiences in server products is strongly desirable, or equivalent industry experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge in server architecture and component ecosystem.
• Hands on experience troubleshooting server issues
• Experiences in configuring basic enterprise level OS
• Experiences in scripting languages is a plus
• Experiences in working with sales / FAE account teams in a collaborative setting is a plus
• Able to lift 50+ lbs

Responsibilities

• Work with product managers and account teams to build proof-of-concept systems for customer qualification
• Troubleshoot system issues in production/manufacturing and assist RMA repair teams with subject matter expertise
• Manage OEM system bill-of-materials and ECO’s
• Work with internal and external lab to validate new hardware and firmware releases
• Proactively engage in learning and researching new technologies and products
• Work with sales and customers to provide support, acting as the liaison between internal departments
