Job summary

Supermicro in San Jose seeks a Sr. Field Application Engineer to drive technical sales support for IT infrastructure projects.

You will work across product development, sales, and customers to define architectures, demonstrate proofs of concept, and ensure solutions meet customer requirements. The role requires strong hardware/software knowledge, experience with server platforms, firmware, Linux/Windows, and occasional travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering (Computer/Electrical) or related field.
• Excellent communication and business sense.
• 5–8 years of experience with Compute/Storage Server or Data Center IT.
• Strong background in x86-based server architecture.
• Familiarity with firmware, Linux, Windows, and virtualization is a plus.
• Ability to lead investigations across multiple disciplines under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Architect and present technical solutions to expand Fortune1000 account penetration and loyalty.
• Works closely with the sales and extended teams to map end-user customer requirements and provide optimized technical solutions.
• Provides technical leadership in Pre-Sales and oversees implementation of such solutions.
• Visit on-site facilities and assist with solution integration and issue resolution; travel up to 10%.
