Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Sr. Product Engineer for the OEM server group to help manage high-visibility accounts. Based at our San Jose, CA headquarters, the role requires a background in server hardware and the ability to hit the ground running as a team player.

Candidates should bring 8+ years in server product engineering, strong server architecture knowledge, and hands-on troubleshooting. The role demands in-office collaboration and the capacity to lift 50+ lbs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EE, CE, or ME; 8+ years in server product engineering.
• Strong knowledge of server architecture and component ecosystems.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of server issues.
• Experience configuring basic enterprise OS.
• Scripting experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
• In-office attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Work with product managers and account teams to build proof-of-concept systems for customer qualification
• Troubleshoot system issues in production/manufacturing and assist RMA repair teams with subject matter expertise
• Manage OEM system bill-of-materials and ECO's
• Work with internal and external lab to validate new hardware and firmware releases
• Proactively engage in learning and researching new technologies and products
• Work with sales and customers to provide support, acting as the liaison between internal departments
