Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Reliability Observability Engineer 3 to enable reliable, measurable, and supportable operations across a broad portfolio of production applications.

You will drive observability across critical journeys, define SLIs/SLOs, and build dashboards and alerts to monitor availability and latency. You will partner with product owners, SRE, and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable observability architectures, governance frameworks, and actionable monitoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Five to seven years of relevant work experience in observability, reliability engineering, or SRE.
• Experience with telemetry tools and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Lead observability across critical customer journeys and define strategy.
• Design and govern SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and reliability metrics.
• Establish governance for dashboards, alerts, synthetic monitoring, and telemetry standards.
• Translate requirements into scalable observability architectures and tagging frameworks.
• Partner with product owners, application engineering, SRE, and operations teams.
• Develop executive and operational dashboards for service health and SLO compliance.
• Analyze telemetry data and incidents to identify gaps and improvements.
• Provide leadership on tracing, logging, metrics, synthetic testing, and alert governance.
• Maintain inventory of observability assets and ownership.
