Job summary

CVS Health PBM is seeking a Lead Platform Reliability Engineer to shape metrics, observability, and AI-driven incident response for cloud-native systems. You will drive SLOs/SLIs, manage error budgets, and lead automation of quality gates within release pipelines.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, performance, and scalable growth of cloud-based applications, with a focus on proactive incident analysis and AI-powered insights.

Qualifications

10+ years in software/platform/SRE.
7+ years observability with SLOs/SLAs and incident management.
7+ years backend experience in Java/Python.
7+ years with OpenTelemetry and instrumentation.
7+ years with cloud-native platforms (Docker/Kubernetes, Argo CD).
7+ years with public cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure).
5+ years designing scalable distributed data pipelines.
5+ years with Grafana/Loki/Tempo or equivalent observability backends.
5+ years with PostgreSQL/MySQL.

Responsibilities

Define, implement, and maintain metrics, SLOs, and SLIs for reliability.
Manage error budgets and balance reliability with feature delivery.
Design monitoring and observability solutions with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo.
Architect scalable cloud infrastructure for multiple applications.
Lead automated quality gates integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
Assist in incident response with post-mortems and preventive actions.
Apply AI/GenAI to surface changes, anomalies, and next actions.
Accelerate triage and RCA with AI-assisted workflows.
Monitor AI workloads with end-to-end tracing and secure logging.
