EverOps is seeking a Lead Observability Engineer to join our US-based virtual center. Remote work with senior leadership exposure will drive an observability maturity assessment for a large-scale consumer platform.

You will lead an embedded TechPod as Pod Leader, manage telemety validation, define a target AWS-native architecture, and plan the platform migration with a focus on cost, fidelity, and governance.

Qualificações

• 8+ years in SRE, DevOps, Observability, or Platform Engineering.
• 4+ years owning production observability platforms.
• Deep Prometheus ecosystem experience and long-term storage knowledge.
• Hands-on with AWS observability services and cost-aware design.
• Production OpenTelemetry experience and instrumentation practices.
• Strong Kubernetes (EKS) operations and scaling skills.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and related tooling.
• Scripting in Python, Go, or Bash for data pull and migration.
• Clear communication and leadership in cross-functional teams.
• Ability to build defensible cost models from usage data.

Responsabilidades

• Estate Assessment: map observability estate across vendors and collectors.
• Telemetry Analysis: validate cardinality, series health, retention.
• Cost Modeling: compare current state to target states with cost estimates.
• Target Architecture: design AWS-native OpenTelemetry-based architecture.
• Retention & Data Classification: align with Security and Legal policies.
• Capability & Gap Analysis: map to AWS-native equivalents and gaps.
• Performance Parity: run tests to compare query performance and fidelity.
• Migration Planning & Execution: plan and lead pipeline cutovers and dashboards.
• OpenTelemetry Standards: define conventions for instrumentation.
• Ownership & Cost Attribution: rebuild tagging for cost attribution.
• Commercial Analysis: inform vendor renewal with unbiased guidance.
• Technical Leadership: lead the TechPod and stakeholder communications.
• Documentation & Readouts: produce assessment, architecture, and summary reports.
