Job summary

LPL Financial seeks an experienced Senior Engineer, Observability and Platform Stability to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our observability platforms and related applications. You will drive monitoring, incident response, platform maintenance, automation, and CI/CD maturation in close collaboration with Platform Engineering, DevOps, Operations, and application teams.

Success in this role requires deep SRE expertise, operational excellence, and the ability to deliver

Qualifications

6+ years of experience in SRE, platform engineering, or related tech environments.
Experience supporting enterprise platforms including AWS, Dynatrace, ELK, ServiceNow, SolarWinds.
Experience executing changes through formal change and release management processes.

Responsibilities

Partner with Product Owners and engineering teams to provide operational support and release execution for technology initiatives.
Validate operational readiness for platform changes, including rollback plans and runbooks.
Maintain platform stability during technology transformations and deployments.
Support platform ownership transitions and readiness across globally distributed teams.
Troubleshoot production issues to restore service and minimize business impact.
Serve as escalation point for complex incidents and operational challenges.
Participate in incident triage, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
Collaborate to implement permanent solutions reducing recurring production issues.
Support mission-critical environments with timely incident resolution.
Perform platform health reviews and configuration assessments to identify risks.
Execute reliability initiatives to improve recovery times and reduce defects.
Validate vendor releases and configuration updates prior to production deployment.
Improve monitoring, alerting, and issue detection with observability teams.
Adhere to SDLC, change management, and release management processes.
Work with cross-functional teams to enhance release and deployment practices.
Support CI/CD adoption and environment separation across deployments.
