Job summary

Fort Washington Medical Center seeks an experienced Operations Manager for Surgical Services to lead day-to-day operations across OR, PACU, Endoscopy and Sterile Processing while aligning with organizational goals. You will guide leaders, monitor metrics, and promote patient safety and quality improvement.

The role emphasizes budget oversight, staffing optimization, and interdisciplinary collaboration to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care within a faith-informed health system.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• BLS certification.
• Leadership, nursing administration, or perioperative nursing certification within 1 year of hire.
• 3–5 years of experience in surgical services or a department leadership role.
• 1–2 years of OR experience preferred.
• Experience managing multiple units and interdisciplinary teams.
• Budget oversight, operational management, and quality improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Operationalize the strategic plan for surgical services in alignment with goals.
• Develop and monitor department objectives, targets, and metrics.
• Provide guidance and evaluation for managers, supervisors, and staff.
• Lead the senior leadership presence for surgical services and committees.
• Oversee daily operations of OR, PACU, Endoscopy and Sterile Processing.
• Ensure alignment of inpatient and outpatient workflows for efficiency.
• Monitor operational metrics, resource utilization, and safety.
• Participate in budget development, capital planning, and financial monitoring.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and professional practice standards.
• Foster evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and patient safety.
• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and staff professional development.
