Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, seeks an experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Operating Room team. The nurse leader will drive clinical excellence, collaboration, and compassionate service while delivering safe, high-quality patient care.

You will oversee daily OR operations, staffing, scheduling, and performance improvement, partnering with surgeons, anesthesia, and ancillary services to optimize patient flow and outcomes.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Delaware or eligibility for Delaware licensure.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive Operating Room nursing experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in perioperative services.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and oversight for the daily clinical and operational activities of the Operating Room.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards (Joint Commission).
• Promotes a culture of quality, patient safety, and service excellence.
• Oversees staffing, scheduling, productivity, and resource utilization for efficient department operations.
• Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia, nursing leadership, sterile processing, and ancillary departments to optimize patient flow and surgical outcomes.
• Monitors clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, staff engagement, and operational performance to drive improvement.
• Supports recruitment, onboarding, retention, coaching, and performance management of perioperative staff.
• Facilitates communication through leadership meetings, staff meetings, and educational programs.
