Job summary
Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to join the Nuclear Power Group in a role focused on design and analysis for new nuclear facilities and upgrades. You will work with a team of engineers across disciplines on a variety of projects and develop calculations, specs, and drawings.
Essential requirements include a BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis and 3+ years on a project team, plus experience with STAAD/SAP2000/SAFE/STRUDL/ANSYS and ASCE 7, AISC, ACI codes.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Eng from ABET-accredited program.
- Three+ years on project teams in design/analysis of structures (steel AISC and concrete ACI).
- Experience with structural analysis software and design codes (ASCE 7, AISC, ACI).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with structural engineers and interface with other disciplines.
- Prepare and review design calculations, develop specifications, support drawing development.
- Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, foundations.
- Travel to client/vendor offices or plant sites for reviews and coordination.
