Sargent & Lundy seeks a structurally focused engineer to join its Nuclear Power Group in Reston, VA. The role involves leading technical resources on projects and serving as a liaison with clients, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on safety-related structures for nuclear facilities and upgrades.

Essential qualifications include an ABET-accredited MS in Civil Engineering, 5+ years in design/analysis, and proficiency with SAP2000, STRUDL, SASSI, ANSYS, LS-DYNA along with ASCE/ACI

Qualifications

ABET-accredited MS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
5+ years in design and analysis of structures as part of a project team.
Proficiency with specified structural analysis software and design codes.
Experience with blast and explosive loading considerations per UFC guidelines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead technical resources on projects and liaison with clients.
Collaborate with structural engineers and other disciplines.
Develop design calculations and specifications; support drawings.
Perform structural analysis under seismic and other loading conditions.
