Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced mechanical or chemical engineer with a strong background in nuclear power systems design. You will lead engineering teams, modify plant packages, and develop cost estimates while interfacing with clients at site locations. A minimum of 10 years in the power industry and ABET-accredited degree are required; PE is a plus.

The role emphasizes use of modern tools including Python, MATLAB, and advanced Excel to streamline workflows and deliver robust designs.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants and review drawings.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support plant modifications.
• Prepare procurement documents and vendor bid evaluations.
• Lead engineering project teams and interface with clients; travel to client sites as needed.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client work scopes.
