Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to contribute to nuclear power plant system design and modification projects. You will lead project teams, develop or review technical drawings, and perform analyses to support modifications for operating plants.

The role emphasizes leveraging data, automation, and AI to improve workflows, with opportunities to interface with clients and present engineering tasks and statuses at client sites.

Qualifications

BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the power industry.
Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical design of nuclear power plants.
PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants.
Prepare or review functional mechanical drawings for nuclear power plant systems.
Perform engineering analyses and evaluations for plant modifications and operations.
Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
Study modification options and evaluations for operating plants.
