Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is offering a hybrid role in Washington, DC area focusing on nuclear power plant systems design. The engineer will work on modification packages, drawings, analyses, and procurement documents, with potential vendor evaluations and status presentations for client projects.

Responsibilities include cost estimation for small to mid-sized scopes, client site visits, and leading engineering project teams. ABET-accredited degree and 10+ years in power are preferred, PE is a plus, U.S.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited program in mechanical or chemical engineering with thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer coursework.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical design of nuclear power plants.
• PE license is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify and review packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Create or review functional mechanical drawings and plant system drawings.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations for plant modifications and operation.
