Job summary

TerraPower is seeking a highly motivated Nuclear Licensing Engineer to join the Natrium Licensing team in Bellevue, WA. The role supports NRC engagements, develops licensing documents, and ensures compliance with 10 CFR regulations across multiple applications.

You will work closely with Engineering and Licensing staff to prepare, review, and maintain licensing documentation, and respond to NRC inquiries with high integrity and attention to quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited, four-year university or equivalent experience.
• Capability and willingness to adhere to strict quality assurance standards.
• Demonstrated, applicable experience in nuclear licensing, or comparable field.
• 10 years plus experience with 10 CFR regulations and guidance.
• 10 years plus experience with NRC licensing actions involving 10 CFR 30, 40, and 70 applications.
• Self-Starter with ability to manage deadlines.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Professional.

Responsibilities

• Draft, author, and review licensing documents for 10 CFR part 30, 40, and 70 (e.g., Safety Analysis Report and Environmental Report).
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to prepare responses to NRC audit questions and requests for additional information.
• Interface with the Licensing Team to complete licensing tasks.
• Coordinate with design personnel to ensure designs and design changes meet regulatory requirements.
• Prepare, review, and maintain licensing documentation in compliance with regulations and strict quality assurance standards.
• Interface with technical discipline teams at TerraPower, partners, and contractors.
• Review correspondence to and from regulatory agencies.
• Develop licensing strategies to support project goals.
