Job summary

TerraPower LLC seeks a Principal Nuclear Licensing Engineer to lead complex licensing activities for the Natrium project. You will craft licensing documents and steer regulatory interactions with the NRC, reporting to the Sr. VP of Regulatory Affairs.

The role requires deep NRC knowledge, 15–20+ years in licensing, and strong leadership to mentor staff and coordinate with engineering teams. Seattle-area relocation is possible.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering with nuclear/civil focus or related experience.
• Experience interpreting NRC regulations and guidance.
• Proven ability to lead licensing projects and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and review of licensing documents (e.g., Safety/Environmental Reports).
• Direct regulatory engagement plans and justify licensing pathways.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary responses to NRC inquiries and audits.
• Mentor licensing engineers and guide regulatory interpretation.
• Collaborate with design/engineering to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Review licensing docs for QA and regulatory alignment.
