Job summary

TerraPower LLC. in Bellevue, WA seeks a Principal Nuclear Licensing Engineer to join the Natrium Licensing team.

You will support NRC licensing activities, prepare safety and environmental reports, and ensure licensing documents align with TerraPower strategy. The role collaborates with engineering, design, and regulatory staff, requires strong knowledge of NRC regulations, QA, and project management to advance advanced reactor projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year university or equivalent experience.
• Ability to adhere to strict quality assurance standards.
• Experience in nuclear licensing, or a comparable field.
• Ability to analyze and interpret U.S. NRC regulations and guidance.
• Experience with U.S. NRC construction permit and operating license applications.
• Project management experience including schedules, deadlines, budgets, and leading teams.
• Understanding of nuclear reactor design and operation.
• Self-starter with ability to manage deadlines.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and Adobe Professional.
• Trust, integrity, communication, and teamwork.
• Starting level and title determined by qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Draft, author, and review licensing documents (e.g., Construction Permit or Operating License applications).
• Coordinate with stakeholders to respond to NRC audit questions and information requests.
• Interface with Licensing Team to complete licensing tasks.
• Coordinate with design personnel to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare, review, and maintain licensing documentation per regulations and QA standards.
• Interface with TerraPower teams, partners, and contractors.
• Review correspondence with regulatory agencies.
• Develop licensing strategies to support project goals.
