Job summary

TerraPower is seeking a Materials and/or Environmental Licensing Engineer to join the Regulatory Affairs and Licensing team in Bellevue, WA. You will help develop licensing strategies and submittals, coordinate interactions with the NRC, and support environmental licensing activities for advanced reactor programs.

The ideal candidate has 10–15 years of experience in nuclear licensing, strong QA, and proven ability to work within a matrix organization and manage deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with strong experience in nuclear field; advanced degree preferred.
• Capability and willingness to adhere to strict quality assurance standards.
• 10–15 years of direct materials and/or environmental licensing experience.
• 10–15 years of direct experience with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
• 10–15 years of direct experience in project management.
• Excellent communicator, team oriented, able to direct remote team members.
• Experience with plant design teams is desirable.
• Experience with advanced reactors desirable but not mandatory.
• Self-starter with ability to manage deadlines.
• Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Professional.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements Materials or Environmental Licensing Project Plans.
• Manages schedule for licensing submittals and regulatory approvals.
• Coordinates ongoing licensing activities with project teams.
• Prepares environmental permit applications aligned with NRC/NEPA/EPA requirements.
• Prepares for meetings and interactions with regulatory authorities.
• Collaborates with partner organizations for licensing activities.
