Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to lead major I&C projects for nuclear power—SMR and plants—through digital systems, documentation, and vendor coordination. You will mentor junior engineers and participate in client meetings and site walkdowns.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 7+ years of design experience, and strong communication skills. Hybrid schedule with in-office work 3 days per week; PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 7+ years of experience in design engineering for process control systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience reviewing design drawings created by others.
• PE license preferred or required depending on role.

Responsibilities

• Work on major process controls engineering projects in digital systems (PLC/DCS, displays, network switches).
• Develop functional requirements and procurement specs for I&C components.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information clearly.
• Develop P&ID’s and system design descriptions; prepare design inputs for drawings.
• Interface with vendors; prepare equipment purchase specifications.
• Attend client meetings and site walkdowns; mentor less-experienced engineers.
• Support outage activities as required.
