Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to work on major process control projects for nuclear power plant upgrades. You will contribute to digital control systems, develop procurement specs, and prepare modification packages while mentoring junior engineers.

Applicants should have a BS in engineering from an ABET program and at least five years of design experience in process control, including nuclear I&C and DCS/PLC systems.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program with coursework in analog and digital control systems, systems engineering, mechatronics, or robotics.
• Minimum of 5 years in design engineering for process control systems; nuclear power plant control system experience preferred.
• Experience with controls system design including low/medium voltage distribution and equipment like turbines, pumps, feedwater control, and data displays.
• Experience with I&C design for BWR or PWR reactors, including DCS for turbine, control, feedwater, and data display.
• Knowledge of available equipment and pre-engineered systems to execute designs.
• Ability to review design drawings prepared by others.

Responsibilities

• Work on major process controls engineering projects for upgrades and modifications to nuclear power plants.
• Develop functional requirements and procurement specs for instrumentation and control systems.
• Prepare process instrumentation replacement evaluation reports and nuclear modification packages.
• Mentor less experienced engineers in I&C design.
• Attend client meetings and perform site walkdowns to verify deliverables.
