Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer for nuclear power projects. You will work on design engineering for I&C systems, including DCS and field instrumentation, and contribute to P&ID development and system descriptions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with clients, mentoring junior engineers, and supporting outage activities. A BS in engineering from an ABET-accredited program and 5+ years of nuclear I&C design experience are required.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years in design engineering for process control systems.
• Experience with power plant instrumentation and controls design for nuclear reactors (BWR/PWR).
• Experience reviewing design drawings created by others.
• Knowledge of low/medium voltage distribution and controls for turbines, pumps, and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Attend client meetings and perform site walkdowns to verify design work quality.
• Develop P&ID’s and System Design Descriptions for I&C projects.
• Mentor less experienced nuclear I&C design engineers.
