Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to work on major process controls projects for nuclear power plants in the United States. You will design digital control systems, prepare procurement specs, and contribute to plant modernization efforts.

Requirements include an ABET-accredited engineering degree and at least five years in process control design, with nuclear I&C experience preferred.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited BS/MS in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering is required.
Minimum 5 years in design engineering for process control systems; nuclear I&C preferred.
Experience with controls design for low/medium voltage distribution and plant equipment (turbines, pumps, feedwater, data displays).
Experience with I&C for BWR or PWR reactors, including DCS for turbine, control, feedwater, and data displays.
Knowledge of available equipment and pre-engineered systems for system design.
Ability to review drawings created by others.

Responsibilities

Lead major process controls projects for upgrades and modifications to nuclear plants.
Develop functional requirements and procurement specifications for instrumentation and control systems.
Attend client meetings and perform site walkdowns to ensure client satisfaction.
Mentor junior engineers in instrumentation and controls design practices.
Review design drawings and ensure compliance with project goals.
