Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Design Engineer to join our Nuclear Design Group in Charlotte, NC.

The role focuses on the design of I&C components, PLCs, DCS, and supporting safe, reliable operation of nuclear facilities. You’ll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, develop precise drawings and analyses, and contribute to project documentation and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical or similar Engineering Degree from an accredited university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with design of I&C plant components and controls systems including PLC's and DCS.
• Must have experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects directly or with an engineering/design consulting firm.
• Good writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Due to Federal Contract Requirements, US Citizenship is required.
• Approximate travel of 10% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop Engineering Deliverables: Produce precise drawings, calculations, and analyses that meet codes and client expectations.
• Set the Standard: Create engineering documents that exceed requirements and ensure quality.
• Stay on the Cutting Edge: Keep up with industry codes, safety culture, and advanced design techniques.
• Drive Quality & Precision: Deliver solutions aligned with QA programs and raise project performance.
• Cultivate Strong Client Connections: Build trust via clear communication and professional engagement.
• Collaborate Across Disciplines: Team with multidisciplinary groups to meet project requirements.
• Provide Field Support: Visit sites, perform plant walkdowns, and ensure structures meet standards.
