Job summary

ENERCON Services, Inc. seeks an Instrumentation and Controls Design Engineer to join our Nuclear Design Group in Charlotte, NC. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the safe, reliable operation of nuclear facilities through I&C design, PLC/DCS, and field support.

The role offers a path from mid-level to principal engineering, with opportunities to lead, mentor, and advance while staying current with industry codes and safety practices in a dynamic energy sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical or similar Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with design of I&C plant components and controls systems including PLCs and DCS.
• Must have experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects directly or with an engineering/design consulting firm.
• Good writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
• Approximate travel of 10% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop Engineering Deliverables: Produce precise and error-free drawings, calculations, and analyses that exceed industry codes, standards, and client expectations, ensuring every project is built on a solid foundation of accuracy
• Set the Standard: Develop engineering documents that not only meet but surpass client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements, adhering to processes that guarantee excellence every step of the way
• Stay on the Cutting Edge: Continuously enhance your expertise in industry codes, safety culture principles, and advanced design techniques, staying ahead in the dynamic nuclear sector
• Drive Quality & Precision: Deliver exceptional engineering solutions that align with rigorous quality assurance programs and consistently raise the bar for project performance
• Cultivate Strong Client Connections: Build trust and lasting relationships through clear communication, professional engagement, and the consistent delivery of superior engineering results
