System One is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the design and analysis of nuclear fuel handling and dry storage systems. The role involves technically rigorous design work, regulatory compliance, and cross‑disciplinary collaboration on advanced nuclear energy projects.

Ideal candidates have experience with fuel handling systems, mechanical design, and engineering analyses in regulated environments, with a strong focus on quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years engineering experience.
• Experience with nuclear fuel handling systems or similar high‑performance engineered systems.
• Experience with QA programs such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001.

Responsibilities

• Design spent fuel pool systems, dry cask storage equipment, and fuel handling systems.
• Develop drawings, calculations, specifications, design basis documents, and technical reports.
• Lead design reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide engineering analyses including thermal, structural, seismic, shielding, and criticality evaluations.
• Apply industry standards such as ASME BPVC, ANS, ASTM, IEEE, NFPA.
• Analyze regulatory requirements and incorporate into system designs.
• Oversee fabrication, testing, and delivery of fuel handling and dry storage equipment.
• Coordinate with mechanical, civil, I&C, and nuclear teams for integrated designs.
• Manage interfaces with equipment vendors and supplier design reviews.
• Develop system requirements, design specifications, and performance criteria.
• Support testing programs, commissioning, and system qualification.
• Provide engineering support for SARs and licensing activities.
