Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager – Remote, based out of Oak Ridge, TN, to lead mechanical design efforts for small modular reactor projects and fuel cycle facilities. The role requires directing a team of engineers, ensuring performance, and coordinating with senior leadership in a multi-disciplinary environment.

The candidate should have extensive nuclear design knowledge, PE licensure is preferred, and a track record of managing large engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering discipline.
• Minimum of fifteen years post-baccalaureate experience.
• Minimum of five years of experience managing individuals or teams.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license desired; multi-jurisdiction licensing a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems for small modular reactor and fuel cycle facilities.
• Lead and supervise a team of mechanical engineers on major nuclear projects.
• Manage staff performance and align goals across senior technical managers and program leaders.
• Identify staffing needs and recruit/mentor qualified candidates for key vacancies.
