Job summary

Duke Energy's Robinson Nuclear Station in Hartsville, SC, seeks an Electrical Design Engineer III or Senior Electrical Design Engineer to develop and manage design changes for critical power systems. This role requires strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to work with increasing independence in a nuclear environment.

Hybrid work arrangement after onboarding is expected; travel within site and occasional offsite support may be required. A PE and nuclear experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Minimum of 1 year of nuclear power plant experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience; Master’s may substitute for degree.

Responsibilities

• Develop scope, technical basis, installation and testing requirements for design changes (AC/DC power systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, relays, breakers).
• Provide engineering guidance for increasing project scope and complexity.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule and monitor work with attention to priorities and change control.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and sketches for defined problems and analysis.
• Conduct studies and manage projects with increasing independence and moderate impact on systems.
