Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation's Nuclear Fleet Corporate Design Engineering team in Hartsville, SC is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer III or Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead design changes for AC/DC power systems, transformers and switchgear, with increasing independence.

You will develop the technical basis, install and test requirements, provide guidance on complex problems, and prepare reports and sketches for defined problems while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 1 year of nuclear power plant experience.
• ABET-accredited B.S. in Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years engineering experience.
• Master's degree may substitute for BS.
• State PE registration may be required in some departments.

Responsibilities

• Develop the scope, technical basis, installation, and testing requirements for design changes.
• Provide engineering guidance for problems of increasing scope.
• Contribute to team decisions with planning, scheduling and prioritization.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and sketches for defined problems.
• Conduct studies and manage moderately complex projects.
• Apply fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Develop positive working relationships and communicate effectively.
