Job summary

Duke Energy's Nuclear Fleet Corporate Design Engineering (CDE) team seeks an Electrical Design Engineer III or Senior Electrical Design Engineer at the Oconee Nuclear Station site in Seneca, SC. This role focuses on design changes across AC/DC systems, protection, and motor control, with increasing project independence.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited BS in Engineering required.
• MS degree will be considered in lieu of the BS.
• Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience.
• 1 year of nuclear power plant experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop scope, technical basis, installation and testing requirements for engineering design changes (AC/DC power systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, relays, breakers).
• Provide engineering/technical guidance for problems of increasing scope and complexity.
• Contribute to team decisions, plan, estimate, schedule and monitor work activities.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and sketches for well-defined problems.
• Conduct engineering studies and complete routine projects with increasing independence.
• Demonstrate oral and written communication skills and maintain accurate records.
